Disabled Options for Adelaide Airport Car Rental

Disability Access

As with any flight, if you have a disability and require special assistance, contact your airline before flying so they can be prepared to help you with such things as wheelchairs for use in getting on and off the plane, or space onboard for guide dogs. Some airlines operate buggies to help transport passengers throughout the terminal, and this can be pre-arranged with the airline.

Check-in and security screening are often the trickiest parts of the flying process for passengers with disabilities. Some check in desks at Adelaide Airport have been lowered to allow access for those in wheelchairs, and there are also some with a Counter Hearing System installed, which can be used by people with hearing aids or hearing impairments. Please ask staff about these should you need them. Security screening can be tailored to meet special requirements, but all passengers must pass through security screening to ensure they are not taking prohibited items onboard. If you cannot walk through the metal detector without mobility aids, security officers will scan you with a handheld detector. Please notify them of any prosthetics, pacemakers or other apparatus which may interfere with the process.

Elevators and automatic doors aid disabled passengers in navigating the terminal building, and designated parking spaces make it easy to get inside. Customer Service Officers are available in the drop off and pick up areas to assist those who need it, and in the covered carpark there are 24 designated spaces for anyone with a valid disability parking permit.
